Description

The accurate measurement of accelerator electron beam profile is essential for the accelerator diagnostic. Laser Compton scattering as a method is used to perform the laser wire scan, where a focused laser pulse undergoes Compton scattering with the electron beam, to determine the electron beam size. The determination of the vertical and horizontal sizes have been done on the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source (SLEGS) beamline station of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF). Compared to other published works, it is realized that the sizes in two directions can be measured at the same time based on the slant-scattering mode of SLEGS.
