Dear Colleague,
We are very pleased to announce that the 8th International Workshop on Nuclear Dynamics in Heavy-ion Reactions (IWND2026) will be held in the Institute of Modern Physics and Physics and Electronic Engineering College, Shanxi Normal University, Taiyuan, China, on August 21-25, 2026. August 21 is the registration date, August 22-24 are workshop days, and August 25 is the departure date.
IWND is an important series of international academic conference which was initiated by Chinese scientists. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum for the international community of nuclear dynamics and exchange new progress obtained both in experiments and in theories for heavy ion physics. The 8th workshop follows the previous workshops held in Beijing Normal University (1st 2007 Beijing), Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2nd 2009 Shanghai), Shenzhen University (3rd 2012 Shenzhen), Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (4th 2014 Lanzhou), Henan Normal University (5th 2016 Xinxiang), Huzhou University (6th 2018 Huzhou), and Sun Yat-sen University (7th 2024 Zhuhai).
This workshop aims to help the young nuclear physicists reach the forefront of nuclear physics as soon as possible. Also, the workshop aims to discuss the most important problems, such as the limit of nuclear existence and the evolution of celestial bodies.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
-
Heavy-ion nuclear reaction dynamics and isospin effects
-
Symmetry energy in nuclear matter and neutron stars
-
Phase transitions in strongly interacting matter
-
Reaction dynamics for superheavy elements and weakly bound nuclei
-
Nuclear dynamics induced by protons, anti-protons, mesons and photons
-
Nuclear clusters, hypernucleus, astro-nuclear aspects
-
Experimental opportunities in Chinese nuclear physics facilities
Several selected papers will be considered for publication as a special section in a SCI-indexed journal “Nuclear Science and Techniques” (http://www.springer.com/41365; http://www.nst.sinap.ac.cn). The peer review process will be applied before the acceptance of such manuscript.
