Description
In high-energy heavy-ion collisions, high-energy jets produced by initial hard scatterings interact with the quark–gluon plasma (QGP) and lose energy during their propagation. A single jet may contain multiple partons, which can interact with the QGP either coherently or decoherently. Current Pb+Pb collision experiments have reached a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV, and jet transverse momentum reaches up to 1 TeV, where decoherence effects become non-negligible.
Based on the NLO pQCD parton model and the high-twist energy loss model, this work defines the resolution scale $Q_\mathrm{pair}$ between two partons as their invariant mass and introduces a medium resolution scale $Q_{\rm med}$.Additionally, we introduce a coherence intensity $I(Q_{\rm pair})$ to quantify the fraction of coherent energy loss.
By comparing with experimental data on inclusive jets, reclustered jets, soft-drop $r_{\rm g}$, and jet mass from Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, we demonstrate the effectiveness of this method in calculating high-energy jet energy loss.
