Description
Strong magnetic fields generated in relativistic heavy-ion collisions may affect electromagnetic probes of strongly interacting matter. In this work, we investigate the Drell-Yan process under an external magnetic field by considering the full Landau-level structure of the initial-state quarks. Using a relativistic quantum field theoretical approach, we derive the transition amplitude for quark-antiquark annihilation into dilepton pairs, where the magnetic-field effects are incorporated through the Landau-level representation of fermion states. Beyond the lowest Landau level approximation, contributions from all Landau levels are included to study their impact on the dilepton production process. This study provides a systematic analysis of magnetic-field effects on Drell-Yan dilepton production and may contribute to understanding electromagnetic signals in heavy-ion collisions.
