Description
The CEE experiment at HIRFL-CSR is designed to investigate dense nuclear matter and the QCD phase structure at high baryon density through heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies. The MWDC array serves as the forward tracking system, providing charged-particle trajectory reconstruction and contributing to event-plane measurements.
The CEE-MWDC system has progressed from detector construction and electronics integration to beam operation and systematic calibration. The major calibration procedures, including electronics response, gain, drift-time relation, timing, and detector alignment, have been established and validated using cosmic-ray, Fe-55 source, and beam data. Trigger timing and detector configurations have also been optimized based on beam-test experience. These developments have prepared the CEE-MWDC system for future beam experiments with the magnetic field in operation.
