Description

We study the dynamics of heavy quarks in the quark-gluon plasma in the presence of non-Markovian memory effects using a generalized Langevin framework. Time-correlated thermal noise with a power-law decay is generated through a fractional differential equation formulated in terms of the Caputo fractional derivative of order $\nu$. The role of memory is analyzed through several dynamical observables, including the momentum autocorrelation, the time evolution of the mean squared momentum, the mean squared displacement, and the average kinetic energy. Our results show that long-time correlations in the thermal noise can significantly modify heavy-quark relaxation and transport in the quark--gluon plasma, highlighting the importance of memory effects in the description of heavy flavor dynamics in quark-gluon plasma.
